Wildlife
So a recent work trip found me once again in Teddington, not far from Bushy Park which just happens to have a wild deer population. What better excuse to take along my new Nikon Z8 and 180 - 600mm lens.
Now I wasn’t expecting anything, in fact I wasn’t expecting to find the deer let alone get any actual usable shots; this was just for a bit of practice using a long lens hand held etc (although I have got both a monopod and a tripod, I didn’t take them)..
So within about a minute of walking into the park I find some deer…. about 2 hors later I’ve got about 300 images on my memory card so I head back to my hotel thinking: well if none of them turn out to be any good then at least I got out for a couple of hours, did some excercise (because walking a couple of miles with a heavy camera bag has got to be some kind of workout surely?) and didn’t just lounge around in my hotel room watching TV all evening.
And it turns out that instead of 300+ out of focus shots of a deers backside, I actually eneded up with quite a few passable images. after a few hours of culling (the images, not the deer) I managed to whittle it down to about 50 or so for processing which then got narrowed down to my 10 favourite ones; which are in the gallery “Wildlife”.
So yeah, gonna have to rename the blog too. Guess it’ll include Z8 as well as D700, D800 & Z7….
